Meet TIM WOOTEN

I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina, USA, and a Psycholoog NIP® in The Netherlands. As a therapist, I work from a person-centered approach to therapy, partnering with you to meet you where you are, leverage your strengths, and identify areas of growth and resilience.

I enjoy working with people experiencing trauma, anxiety, and panic disorders as well as depression and mood disorders. As a neurodiverse therapist, I welcome Autistic and ADHD clients, whether self-identified or officially diagnosed.

I also work with couples, helping to navigate conflict effectively, strengthen your partnership, improve communication, and helping you move toward your shared life goals.

I offer a relaxed, non-judgmental approach to therapy sessions, using an eclectic mix of therapy modalities and techniques based on person-centered and cognitive behavioral approaches. I believe you are the expert in your own treatment, and I am dedicated to partnering alongside you in your well-being.

I am LGBTQIA+ and Neurodiversity affirming and welcome clients of all backgrounds and experiences.

In my spare time, you can find me cycling or running, reading about cycling or running, listening to The Grateful Dead, hiking, and reading the news.

Why SECOND SEASON?

After spending several years in Corporate jobs, I was searching for a next step that would align with my values and allow for more flexibility and time with family. I decided to change careers and go back to graduate school in my 30s to pursue a degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. The name “Second Season” comes from “The Rain Song” by Led Zeppelin, and represents the many seasons in my life that have led me to this moment. As a therapist, I welcome the questions, explorations, struggles, and celebrations that come with each season of your life. I’m excited to meet you on this journey.
